GENEVIEVE I. WEYMOUTH

Subhead

Genevieve I. Weymouth, age 90, of Sun City West, Arizona (formally of Plainfield) passed away December 23, 2020 at Golden Springs Senior Living in Surprise, Arizona, just three weeks after her husband Harry passed. Genevieve was born December 29, 1929 in Waupaca, the daughter of Frank and Jessie (Davidson) Pionke. She had a sister, Thelma, and two brothers. Gerald and Robert, who preceded her in death.

Genevieve graduated from Plainfield High School in 1947 and married her High School sweetheart, Harry Weymouth after he returned from the Navy. They settled in Plainfield and would soon have two children. She enjoyed singing and practiced her harmonization skills to make housework more fun. Genevieve worked as a Switch Board Operator at Union Telephone Company until she and Harry moved to Texarkana, Texas. Harry was Production Superintendent at the new Nekoosa Paper Mill in Ashdown, Arkansas. Genevieve worked for a time there at South West Title Company.  She loved playing songs on their home pedal organ in her free time, as well as creating photo albums and baking treats.

In 1993 she and Harry retired to Sun City West, Arizona, where they made many friends and life long memories. Genevieve was very active in Sun City West. Her favorite retirement hobbies were hand painting ceramics, and performing in a dance group for active retirees. Participating in dance even allowed her and Harry to visit Italy for a performance. Her children and grandchildren especially enjoyed the many ceramic treasures they would receive as gifts throughout the years. Genevieve loved traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she went out of her way to bring joyful memories to all.  Her surviving family will always remember those good times with love.

As her health deteriorated, she spent her last six years at Golden Springs Senior Living. We would like to sincerely thank them for giving her (and Harry) such wonderful care.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Hod) Chilewski of Coloma and a son Danny (Sandra) Weymouth of Baytown, Texas; three granddaughters, Alyssa (Paul) Vepraskas of Brookfield, WI, Ashley (Tim) Hejl of San Antonio, Texas and Jennifer (Josh) Presnall of Cove, Texas. Genevieve had four great grandchildren, Miles and Andrew Vepraskas and Teagan and Tenley Hejl.

Because of COVID, there will be no service. Burial will be at the Garden of Eternal Memory Center in Sun City West, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Camino Del Sol is assisting the family with arrangements.
