Elwood Alvin “Mickey” Jungenberg, age 99 of rural Redgranite, Town of Warren, passed away peacefully Monday evening, April 1, 2024 at Juliette Manor Rehabilitation in Berlin.
He was born November 24, 1924 in Port Edwards, Wisconsin, the son of William and Hazel (Haskins) Jungenberg. He was raised in Sheboygan and attended Kohler High School. Mickey served his country in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a Master Auto Service Technician retiring from the Brantmeier Ford Lincoln-Mercury dealership in Sheboygan. He married Geraldine J. Matthias on May 20, 1950 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fairburn (rural Berlin). “Gerry” his wife of 74 years survives.
Mickey is a faithful member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redgranite, where he was an usher, and had assisted with Church building projects through the years. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing in Lake Michigan, watching sports, and traveling with Gerry. The Jungenbergs wintered in Arizona and Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Gerry, daughter, Susan Jungenberg of Berlin, nephews, a sister-in-law, Carmin Fallsbrook of Los Angeles, CA, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Rickey in 2004, his brothers, Donald, Robert, Jack, William, and James Jungenberg, and brothers-in-law, Wilbert, Harold, and Arden Matthias, and a sister-in-law, Karen Matthias.
MEMORIAL SERVICES for Elwood “Mickey” Jungenberg, will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church 330 Foster Road in Redgranite. The Rev. Gregory Sluke, Pastor will officiate. Burial with Full Military Honors will be at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday at Foster Road Cemetery in Redgranite. VISITATION: Relatives and friends may call from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday only, prior to the time of Services at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redgranite.
