Delores H. Bliske, age 81, of Wautoma died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, March 13, 2024 at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh.
She was born December 18, 1942 in the Town of Deerfield, Waushara County the daughter of Max F. and Helen P. (Jazdzewski) Raatz. She married Clifford A. Bliske on July 31, 1965 at Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma. He preceded her in death on August 10, 2023. Delores was a graduate of Wautoma High School. She worked for a time at the former Karl’s IGA, Wautoma A&W and Seavecki’s Store and at Speed Queen in Wautoma. Delores was employed as an assistant at the Wautoma Library for many years. She was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma. Delores and her late husband enjoyed attending many polka dances throughout the years.
She is survived by two sons, Brian (Jamie) Bliske, Larsen, David Bliske (Sandra Rodriguez), Redgranite; three grandchildren, Claire, Trevor and Taylor Bliske; two brothers, Darwin (Donna) Raatz, Borth, Donald (Luanne) Raatz, Green Lake; one sister, Diane (Martin “Marty”) Bongert, Redgranite; brother-in-law, Carl Woodrich, Almond. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Delores was adored by her grandchildren who want to share their thoughts: Claire reflects “From the mashed potatoes for dinner every visit, to the library trips as a kid, to baking mini apple pies. I will forever be thankful for the wisdom and memories that I gained from my grandma.” Trevor writes: “To me grandma is family; she always loved having family over at her house and going to family events. She would always put her family first. If there was one thing she loved most in this world it was her family.” Taylor remembers: “To me my grandma was my best friend, the person who was there for her family all the time no matter what. She always knew how to make me laugh, she did puzzles with me and picked flowers with me. I will never forget the kindness she showed me. I’ll love her forever and always.”
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters-in-law, Mildred Zager, Ruby Johnson, Janet Woodrich and Jane Bliske; one brother-in-law, Donald Bliske.
Funeral services will be held at Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma with Pastor Tom Klusmeyer officiating. Burial will be at Wautoma Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
