Carol J. Fossell, age 85, of Wild Rose, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. She was born in Red Wing, Minnesota on July 24, 1938 to Emil and Mabel Christianson. On November 15, 1957, she was united in marriage to James Fossell - she passed peacefully on their 66 th wedding anniversary. Together they raised five children.
Carol had a variety of interests including knitting, cooking, baking, fishing and watching sports - especially football. She also enjoyed basically any activity with her grandchildren. Carol was blessed with a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She was an active member of the Methodist church all of her life and a member of Wild Rose Methodist Church for the past 23 years. She enjoyed trips to the casino and also travelling back to Minnesota.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be dearly missed by: her husband, James Fossell of Wild Rose; children: Melody (Daniel) Zink of Wild Rose, Brett (Patti) Fossell of Appleton, Crystal (Mary) Fossell of Milwaukee, Dawn Dounar of Waupaca and Mark Fossell of Weyauwega; grandchildren: Melissa (Joseph) Roberts, Joshua (Amber) Zink, Eric (Kathryn) Fossell, Kristen (Erik) Lampe, Danielle (Kelsey) Kniess, Dustin (Emily) Fossell, Jessica Fossell and Andrew Fossell. She is also survived by great- grandchildren: Dominick Gyland, Marcus Gyland, Jase Budny, Olivia Budny, Jackson Zink, Turner Zink, Konrad Lampe, Doriana Lampe, Nolan Lampe, Liam Fossell, Everett Fossell, Geroge Kniess and Ivar Fossell and two sisters-in-law: Loretta Langaas and Dianne Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her sisters: Bedelia, Isabel, Pearl and Mildred and a brother, Emil. A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Wild Rose Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at a later date. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca assisted the family with arrangements.
