BONNIE JANE STILLMAN

Bonnie Jane Stillman 99, passed away on Jan. 24, 2021 at Care Pardners in Whiting, WI. She was born in Plainfield, Dec 19, 1921 to the late Ira and Mabel (Rice) Shippee. Bonnies early years were spent working on the family farm, she worked the egg route with her father for several years.  After living thru the Depression years and then going thru World War II she lived a very conservative life. She graduated from Plainfield High School (now Tri-County High School) in 1938 then finished a Business Course in Madison. She then worked as a secretary in Madison and later in the office at Froemming Bros. Inc. Ship Div. shipyard’s in Milwaukee.

Bonnie married LaVerne Stillman Sept. 5, 1942 in Almond, WI. While LaVerne was in the service during WWII, Bonnie stayed with her parents with their first child. After the War, they went back to the Milwaukee Shipyards for LaVerne’s job, later moved to Wisconsin Rapids where LaVerne had a job as a welder in the paper mill. Bonnie was a homemaker and worked on their Christmas Tree Farm located in Wood County6 on County U, for years. She also was a member of the school PTA and a 4-H leader for Saratoga 4-H Club for several years.

After selling the farmhouse Bonnie moved back to Plainfield, WI. She lived in the same little house where her Mother Mabel and Grandmother and Grandfather spent their retirement years. She enjoyed going to the Methodist Church and attending the Women’s Church group. She also enjoyed time at the Senior Center for the meals and programs.

Bonnie is survived by her sons Karl (Rachel) Stillman, Bloomer, son Tom (Arlene) Stillman, Plainfield, daughter Verna (Angelo) Orlandoni, Gotha, FL. seven Grandchildren Dawn (Allen) Kufahl, Eau Claire, Traci(Dean) Becker, Madison, Jennifer (Kevin) Garnett, Elk Mound, WI, Christine Stillman (Delbert Pierce) Bancroft, Angela (Jeremy) Mishler, Big Rapids, MI, Tom Alan (Susan) Stillman, Delafield, Aleta Orlandoni (Anthony Weingartner), Gotha, FL. 16 Greatgrandchildren Samantha Kufahl, Madison, Leia (Korbyn) Knipfer, Chippewa Falls, Alissa Kufahl, Eau Claire, Brooke and Evan Becker, Madison, Lance (Celina) Stillman, Fort Riley, KS, Nicholas Stillman (Emma Levy), Nekoosa, Willow Thompson, Sun Prairie, Harrison, Xavier and Jillian Mishler, Big Rapids, MI, Alexander, Aubrey and Anthony James Stillman, Delafield, Lauren and Kendra Garnett, Elk Mound, three Great-Great Grandchildren Elycia May Stillman and Evangeline Rei Stillman Fort Riley, KS, Kayden Knipfer, Chippewa Falls, one sister Helen Nohr, Andover, MN, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband LaVerne (1998), brothers Max Shippee and Duane Shippee, brother in-law George Nohr, sisters in-law Betty Shippee and Zita Shippee and nephew Ira Shippee, and her parents Ira and Mabel (Rice) Shippee.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 1 p.m. in the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield.
