BARBARA BLISKE

Barbara Jean Bliske, age 71, of Wautoma passed away Friday morning, September 22, 2023, at the Omro Care Center.
She was born August 8, 1952, in Berlin, the daughter of Marvin and Lucille,(Fuchs) Bartel. She married Ernest Bliske on March 18, 1978, at Grace Lutheran Church in the Town of Deerfield. He preceded her in death on October 13, 2006.
Barbara was a 1970 graduate of Wautoma High School. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Waushara County Highway Department and later farmed for many years with her late husband in the Town of Deerfield. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wild Rose.
She is survived by one sister, Becky (Steve) Weiss, Wautoma; brother-in-law, Robert Bartel, Berlin; nieces and nephews: Pastor Christopher (Jalyn) Weiss, Las Cruces, New Mexico, Carrie (Aaron) Lutter, Oak Creek, Karen (Larry) Timm, Pine River, Christine (fiancé Roger Williams) Henke, Oshkosh, Connie (Gary) Bartel, Omro, Sally (Ken) Elmer, Westfield, Aaron (Dawn) Bartel, Poy Sippi; numerous grandnieces and grandnephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her sister-in-law, Lucille Pomplun Bartel; her in-laws, Fred and Violet Bliske.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wild Rose with Rev. Brian Roehrborn officiating. Burial was in Wild Rose Union Cemetery.
Visitation was held on Tuesday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. If desired, memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The Leikness Funeral Home of Wautoma is assisting the family with arrangements. www.leiknessfuneralhome.com
