Prince of Peace to host Good Friday Activities
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church of Coloma is planning to serve their famous Fish Dinner on Good Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church.
The fish is baked and served by Mary Mades and friends at the church. Mades bakes the fish for the Westfield band fundraiser every year and has offered again to prepare the Prince of Peace Dinner.
In conjunction with the fish bake, the church will be offering a non-traditional Good Friday observance, which is more of a journey through the last days of Jesus’s life rather than a traditional religious service.
The church hopes that community and church members will see the “journey” as either a time to reflect on their beliefs and the life of Jesus, a way to educate those who don’t know the story but are interested, or a way to re-connect to their faith. The journey will be self-guided and will be open 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
