Almond-Bancroft Eagles advance to state – first time in school history

The team includes Head Coach Curt Lamb, Blake Williams, Baden Ramirez, Tanner Lamb, Cohen Preissner, Davis Dernbach, Brody Dernbach, Ayden Phillips, Clarence Pratt, Emmitt Stiles, Shane Klismith, Karson Garner, Tucker Stiles, and Coach Greg Otto. The Almond-Bancroft Eagles earned their first Sectional Championship win on March 9 against Reedsville in Hortonville. The Eagles banded together to take a 70-57 win to score their first Sectional Championship win in school history.
The Eagles had several scorers paving the way to victory. TJ Lamb led the team with 17 points, including two 3-pointers. Ayden Phillips added 15 points of his own, while also managing 10 rebounds. Clarence Pratt followed closely with 14 points, including two 3-pointers and 2 of 2 free throws. Emmitt Stiles put up 10 points on the board, including a 3-pointer. Brody Dernbach added 8 points and Shane Klismith 6 points.
This win will send the Eagles to the Kohl Center in Madison for a chance to play in the State Tournament on Friday, March 15. Almond-Bancroft is scheduled to play approximately 15 minutes after game one in Division 5, which will start at 9:05 a.m. The Eagles will go head to head with Abundant Life Christian, with the winner moving on to play in the Championship Final on Saturday, March 16 at 11:05 a.m.
