Wildcats dominate over Penguins, 56-38

The Wild Rose Wildcats took control early in a Jan. 27 boys’ basketball matchup against the Tri-County Penguins, allowing the Wildcats to walk away with a 56-38 win.

“I thought our two senior big guys really dominated,” said Wild Rose Head Coach Jim Komp. “It was really, really nice to see those guys step up and make key plays. We just need to keep building and improving as a team, and hopefully finish the season strong.”

Wild Rose meant business from the start, with five players scoring. Evan Erickson led the attack with 6 points, beginning with a three-pointer. Jarrett Tietz added 4 points, and Tanner Hudziak a three-pointer as the hosts tallied 17 points in the opening quarter. Tri-County had three scorers, but was held to just 5 points in the period.
