Mark Douglas Sorenson, age 68, formerly of Redgranite, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Aspirus Assisted Living in Oshkosh, where he had been residing.
Mark was born in Berlin, Nov. 25, 1954, the son of Owen and Joan (Gehrke) Sorenson. He was a 1973 Graduate of the Wautoma High School and was a faithful, active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redgranite, and had been a member of the Redgranite Volunteer Fire Department. Mark had been employed by the Waushara County Highway Department for 18 years as a truck driver and grader operator until illness forced his retirement.
Mark enjoyed motorcycles, cars, airplanes, and video games. He enjoyed rock and roll music, and had been a sound technician with the group “Road Trip” in the 1990s.
Mark had been married to Jan Giminez.
Survivors include his daughter, Kim (Damian) Day and granddaughter, Zoey of Minneapolis, MN; his aunts, Patty Gehrke of rural Redgranite and Jane Reilly of Waupun; other aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Joan Sorenson.
SERVICES: Funeral Services for Mark D. Sorenson will be held Friday, Oct. 13th. (Please Note the Date.) at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church 330 Foster Road in Redgranite. The Rev. Gregory Sluke, Pastor will officiate. Following these Services, Mark will be laid to rest beside his parents on the family plot in the Redgranite Foster Road Cemetery.
VISITATION: Relatives and friends may call from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Friday, Oct. 13, 2023 Only prior to the time of Services at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redgranite.
A Memorial will be established to honor Mark’s memory.
