NORMAN (BUTCH) MIES, JR.

Butch Mies passed away peacefully at his home in Neshkoro, WI, on Monday, July 31, 2023. Butch was born November 29, 1941, the son of Norman Mies, Sr. and Geraldine (Schneider) Mies. He served in the US Military Marines as a young man. He was the business owner of Butch Mies Plumbing & Heating in Fond du Lac, where he worked as a 3rd generation plumber for most of his life. He retired and moved to Neshkoro with his wife, Kay L. (Christie-Badtke) Mies where he enjoyed life on the lake. He was a member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 400 and previous member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Fond du Lac. Butch is survived by his wife, Kay of 27 years; daughter Marsha (Tim) Riley of Malone, WI and their children Mitchell, Matthew, Allison and Anna; son Greg (Angie) Mies of Fond du Lac, WI; son Kevin Mies. Stepson Troy (Lynn) Badtke of Malone, WI and their children Brianna (Joseph) Moyer and their son, and Blake Badtke (fiancée Rachel); Stepson Brad Badtke of Neenah, WI; Stepson Greg (Arely) Graves of Roscoe, IL and their children Ashley, Alex, Brandon and Jason. Additional in-laws include Cheryl Mies and her family; Scott (Nancy) Christie of Wild Rose, WI and their children and family members; JoEllen (Robert) Christie-Stearns of Wild Rose, WI and their children and family members. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Geraldine Mies, and brother Michael (Mike) Mies.
