Church in the Country Music Concert to be held in Coloma on June 20

South Burr Oak UMC, Coloma, will host a Church in the Country Music Concert on Thursday, July 20 at 7 p.m. as a fundraiser for the summer Coloma VBS program in which they will be partnering with Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Coloma. The concert will feature the Cody Clauson Trio along with some of the most accomplished music students of Brent Clauson. The Cody Clauson Trio features, Cody, Brittney and Brent Clauson. The Trio has traveled nationally, performing at a variety of venues throughout the United States. In addition to concerts at performing arts centers, theatres and festivals, the Trio also performs as part of The Clauson Family Music Show in Coloma. The members of the Trio are active members of South Burr Oak as well. Enjoy an evening of sacred and secular music performed in a variety of different styles including, country & western, jazz, blues, ragtime, bluegrass and gospel. This concert will also showcase South Burr Oak’s newly acquired Petrof baby grand piano. Learn a little history of what makes this instrument unique and special to our church. Come hear this beautiful instrument and others for this fine evening of music for a great cause. The concert will be held at South Burr Oak UMC located at 1854 1st Drive in Coloma. There will be no charge for the event, a free-will offering will be taken with the proceeds going to support the children’s VBS program. Coloma VBS will be August 7-11 from 9 a.m. to Noon at Prince of Peace Church. All children in the area 5 years old to the 5th grade are invited. There will be Bible studies, music, crafts, and games, and lots and lots of fun. Friday there will be a picnic lunch to end the wonderful week. This is a free community event.
