The average American gains one to five pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day due to all of the celebrations, eating and drinking.
Here are some tips to help you keep extra pounds away while still enjoying the festivities this holiday season:
• Bundle up and take a brisk walk outside. The cold air will rejuvenate you as well as shed some extra calories
• While you holiday shop, try taking a few extra laps around the mall.
Mind your beverages
• Limit high-calorie drinks or replace them with low-calorie drinks like club soda or mineral water.
• Drink more water in between meals to help you stay hydrated and minimize calorie consumption.
