Sylvia E Carlson recently passed away at the age of 96, on Feruary 5, 2023 at her home in Hancock.

Sylvia was born in Village of Hancock on October 26th, 1926, to Frank and Blanche (West) Challoner.

She went to school in Adams County and Hancock.

She married Frank Carlson on November 18th, 1944 in Hancock, Wisconsin.  They had three children: Gerald, Ronald and Glenn.

The couple stayed in the Hancock area their whole lives.  They farmed and Sylvia had several jobs outside of the home over the years.

Sylvia has two Grandchildren, Matthew Carlson and Carrie Carlson.  She has 3 great grandchildren, Shon Carlson and Dorothy and Warren Schnittger.  She is so very proud of them and always telling everyone how smart and sweet they are and showing them their pictures.

Sylvia loved her flowers, she was always leafing through seed books eager for spring to come so she could start planting and digging in the dirt.

She also had a couple of pets that were dear to her heart, Duke, who she had for years on the farm, Jasper, her dog, and Putt Putt her cat.

She is survived by her Sons: Gerald Carlson (Betty), Arizona, Glenn Carlson (Connie Reimer), Nekoosa and brothers: Fadell and Lavern Challoner.  Also her daughter-in-law Phyllis Carlson. Her grandchildren, Matthew Carlson and Carrie Carlson and great grandchildren, Shon Carlson and Dorothy and Warren Schnittger

She is predeceased by her husband Frank, their son Ronald, her parents; her brothers Sofus, Byron, Eugene, Cloice and Stanley Challoner; and her sisters, Mildred (Challoner) Sturtz and Ethel Uteg.

At Sylvia’s request, there will be no services held. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Hancock Cemetery.  Stahl Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
