PHYLLIS J. DASSOW March 25, 1940- January 2, 2023

Phyllis J. Dassow (nee Schopper), 82, of the Town of Mt. Morris, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023 surrounded by all her children.

She was born March 25, 1940, in Rib Lake, the daughter of August and Clara (Habeck) Schopper. She married David Dassow on October 6, 1962, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rib Lake.

Phyllis graduated from Rib Lake high school in 1958. She continued her studies at UW- Stevens Point for a year before working for Cutler Hammer. She then went on to focus on her greatest role and purpose, wife and mother. During her time raising her children she also enjoyed working at Kohl’s and Dennis Barker Photography.

Phyllis was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma. Her faith was of utmost importance to her. She loved playing board and card games with her grandchildren and got joy from watching the birds and deer in God’s nature. She spent much of her spare time enjoying reading, doing puzzles and baking for her family. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, Steven (Brenda) Dassow, Renee (Dan) Doerr, Dana (Doug) Christiansen and Daniel (Kelly) Dassow; grandchildren, Rob (Emily) and Tanner Resch, Brianna and Nicole Doerr, Brendan Christiansen, Jacob, Claire, Emma, and Benjamin Semenske, Hannah and Ethan Dassow; and great-grandchildren Carson and Ruby Resch. She is further survived by her brother Eugene Schopper; brother and sisters-in-law Ken Walters, Marie Schopper and Barbara Dassow.

Visitation for Phyllis J Dassow will be held on Saturday, Jan. 7 from 9-11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church located at 335 W Prairie St. in Wautoma followed by a funeral service with Rev. David Kuehl officiating. She will be laid to rest in Holden Lutheran Cemetery.
