Conservation poster contest to be held

Subhead

Waushara County Land Conservation Department, as part of the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) and WI Land + Water, is sponsoring a Conservation and Environmental Awareness Poster Contest. As students learn about the importance of conserving and preserving our natural resources they also get the opportunity to express their ideas through any media – paint, crayon, colored pencil, charcoal, stickers, paper, or other materials on 12” x 18” or 14” x 22” posters. Hand drawn only, no computer generated posters will be accepted.

•The 2023 National Contest Theme “One Water” must be on your poster.

•To be eligible for judging, each poster must have a completed and signed entry form attached on the back of the poster.

•Poster size must be 12” x 18” or 14” x 22”.

• Posters submitted from five age categories (K-12) will be judged on theme originality, visual effectiveness, universal appeal, and conservation message.

•Prizes will be awarded. All first-place posters in our local contest will progress to the Lake Winnebago Area Contest to be held on Jan. 13, 2023. Progressing from there, a State and National Poster Contest are also held. Posters need to be received in the Land Conservation & Zoning Office, Waushara County Courthouse by Dec. 16 by 4:30 p.m.

Free 12” x 18” poster boards are available for the students who are participating in the poster contest. Please send your participation numbers and your posters will be delivered to you.
