Wautoma/Wild Rose Harriers compete at the Mosinee Invitational

On Aug. 30 the Wautoma/Wild Rose Cross Country teams competed in the 11 school Mosinee Cross Country Invitational held at the Nine Mile Recreation Area in Wausau.

The Wautoma/Wild Rose girls team placed fourth out of 11 schools. Team scores were Medford 46, Stratford 82, Lakeland 92, Wautoma/Wild Rose 106, Rhinelander 131, Mosinee 146, Edgar 178, Northland Pines 187, Adams-Friendship 225, with Antigo and Spencer having incomplete teams. Mya Bahr led the Hornet/Wildcat Harriers with a 7th place finish out of 97 runners. Laney Havlovitz finished 14th, Cali Havlovitz 15th, Madylyn Woyak 31st, Isybela Woyak 54th, Laura Babcock 55th, Lacey Vissers 86th, and Morgan Steltenpohl 93rd.

The Wautoma/Wild Rose boys were unable to field a scoring team. Lakeland won the boys’ race with 47 points. Logan Erdman finished 16th out of 66 runners to lead the Hornet/Wildcat Harriers. James Howen finished 41st, Brett Jones 62nd, and Mason Heuer 64th.

In the middle school girls race, out of 51 runners, Leana Biesek finished 27th, Abby Wilcox 36th, and Cadence Lederhaus 38th.

The next action for the Hornet/Wildcat Harriers will be Thursday, Sept. 8 at the Poynette Invitational.
