CAP Services to assist with applications for Wisconsin Help for Homeowners

Subhead

On March 7 Gov. Tony Evers announced the launch of Wisconsin Help for Homeowners Program, which is set to provide more than $92 million in financial assistance to Wisconsin homeowners who have experienced financial hardship as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Eligible homeowners can receive assistance with mortgage payments, local property taxes, and utilities, including internet, as well as housing counseling and legal services.

The Wisconsin Help for Homeowners Program will be administered by the Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA). The DOA has partnered with Wisconsin Community Action Program Association (WISCAP) agencies, such as CAP Services, and Take Root Wisconsin to assist with applications and provide eligible services.

CAP Services will be providing assistance to Marquette, Outagamie, Portage, Waupaca, and Waushara Counties. CAP has been providing COVID-19 assistance for available housing, utilities and other emergency needs since 2020 through Wisconsin Emergency Rental Assistance (WERA) program and through small grants administered by CAP.

If you or someone you know is interested in applying to Wisconsin Help for Homeowners in Marquette, Outagamie, Portage, Waupaca, or Waushara Counties or you would like to learn more about the program, please visit capservices.org/COVID.
