Coloma snowmobilers enjoying the trails, fundraiser scheduled for Saturday, June 11 in Coloma Park

Subhead

A couple weeks ago, Coloma Pathfinders Snowmobile Club members had to travel to northern Wisconsin to find sufficient snow and perfectly groomed trails. The left photo was taken by Mike Schliepp, Coloma, a club member. Trails in central Wisconsin have not been opened, due to insufficient snowfalls. The Coloma groomer is used and costs $55,000. The club has a $25,000 loan it needs to pay off and has been holding fund raising events to help in this effort. The group grooms 42 miles of trails in Waushara and Adams Counties. The tracks alone, can cost $10,000. The club also owns and maintains two other older groomers. The groomer which has been ready to go, waited for a snowmobiling season that did not arrive this year. Contributions can be sent to: Coloma Pathfinders Snowmobile Club, Sue Apps, Secretary, P.O. Box 215, Coloma, WI 54930. For more information, contact the Coloma Hotel at 715-228-2401. A fundraising event on Saturday, June 11 will feature the popular country and rock Star Fire Band at the pavilion in the Coloma Park from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The band was new to this area in June of last year and was a big success at a local fundraiser at the park.
