Wautoma Hornets Varsity takes victory over Reedsville, 8-4

Wautoma Hornets Varsity beat Reedsville 8-4 on May 10.

Hornets Varsity got things started in the first inning when Kyler Fenske singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. Reedsville knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the third inning. Wautoma Hornets Varsity pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Hoyt Keller doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run, an error scored one run for Wautoma Hornets Varsity, and Sam Weiss doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run. Keller took the win for Wautoma Hornets Varsity. The pitcher went four innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out five and walking one. Hunter Netzler threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Wautoma Hornets totaled 12 hits in the game. Weiss, Garrett Burt, and Netzler each racked up multiple hits for Wautoma Hornets. Weiss led Wautoma Hornets with three hits in four at bats.

Wautoma Hornets Varsity Grabs Lead In Sixth Inning For Victory Over Wisconsin Dells

Wautoma Hornets nabbed the lead late in the game in a 4-2 victory over Wisconsin Dells on May 11.

The game was tied at two with Wautoma Hornets batting in the bottom of the sixth when Kyler Fenske singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Wautoma Hornets Varsity opened up an early lead in the second inning when Hunter Netzler singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run. Fenske led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Wautoma Hornets. The righty lasted five and a third innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out seven.

Christian Weiss, Logan Johnson, Sam Weiss, Netzler, Fenske, Garrett Burt, and Logan Dunn each managed one hit to lead Wautoma Hornets.

Wautoma Hornets win first game against Westfield that was postponed from April 27, but then goes down on final play against Westfield Area May 13.

A walk-off left Wautoma Hornets on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat to Westfield Area on Thursday, May 13.

Wautoma Hornets Varsity trailed by four runs in the first inning, but then fought back to lower the final margin. Wautoma Hornets Varsity put up three runs in the failed comeback. Garrett Burt, Logan Dunn, and Christian Weiss picked up RBIs to lead the rally. In the first inning, Sam Weiss took the loss for Wautoma Hornets.

The righty went one-third of an inning, allowing one run on one hit and walking one. Dunn started the game for Wautoma Hornets. The lefthander went five and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out eight. Barton started the game for Westfield Area. Barton allowed six hits and three runs over five and a third innings, striking out four. Wautoma Hornets racked up eight hits in the game. Burt and Logan Johnson all had multiple hits for Wautoma Hornets.

Johnson and Burt each collected two hits to lead Wautoma Hornets Varsity.

Two Wautoma Hornets pitchers team up in shutout victory against Ripon

Wautoma Hornets defeated Ripon 3-0 on May 14 as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.

Hunter Netzler struck out Brandon Carlson to finish off the game. The pitching was strong on both sides. Wautoma Hornets pitchers struck out seven, while

Ripon pitchers sat down two. Hoyt Keller got the win for Wautoma Hornets.

The pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over six innings, striking out four. Netzler threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Garrett Burt led Wautoma Hornets with two hits in three at bats.
