Ramona “Muttsie” DePew, 81, passed away peacefully with her four daughters by her side on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. She was born on April 5, 1939 to the late Floyd and Lucille (Decker) Bishop.

Muttsie was a woman of faith, very involved in her church and very generous with both her time and resources. She lovingly taught Sunday School, knitted hats and mittens for various schools, hospitals and churches as well as volunteered at the local food pantry. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was well known by her quirky personality and sense of humor i.e. the “Wacky Widow of Welsch Road.”

Muttsie is survived by her four daughters: Renee (Dan) Foate, Poygan, Rochelle (Eric) Rutherford, Lynch, Kentucky, Roxanne DePew, St. Petersburg, Florida, Ruthann (Mark) Buhrow, Oshkosh; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; three sisters: Florence Withers, Vivian Brewer and Marion (David) Fude; and many extended family.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Robert; children: Richard and Rebecca DePew; granddaughter, Stephanie Dobbe; siblings: Mae, Beverly, Barbara, ShirleyAnn, Myron and Floyd.

Services were held Friday, March 12 at Borth United Methodist Church at 2 p.m., and a gathering followed at her home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local church or food pantry in Muttsie’s honor.

 

The family would like to thank Country Villa Assisted Living as well as Heartland Hospice for their loving care of Muttsie.
