County Administrator presents annual report to county supervisors

Subhead

Waushara County Administrator, Robert Sivick, presented his annual report to the Waushara County Board of Supervisors at their regular meeting on Jan. 19th at the Waushara County Courthouse, Wautoma.

Sivick began his presentation telling the supervisors that he will not always be popular with the decisions he makes, but he will do the best job he possibly can for the county.  That includes making tough decisions at times.  He said that he is insistent that policies be applied consistently as well as laws applicable to Wisconsin county government.

He also stressed that previously there had no long-term range planning.  Presently the county is taking on projects and making tough decisions with an eye toward decades, even generations into the future. As for the buildings and renovations project, studies show that county taxpayers are paying $10,000 more per month than necessary to heat, cool, and light buildings.

It also shows that due to inefficient use of space and antiquated IT systems, employees inadvertently waste time costing taxpayers thousands of dollars per day. “Millions of dollars are being wasted,” he said.

Presently the results will include substantial immediate and long-term cost savings in maintaining and operating buildings and county services.  A new ambulance station is proposed for the Poy Sippi area to improve efficiency and save lives.  This building and renovations project will set the county government buildings up for decades, and perhaps generations, Sivick said.

In board action the supervisors approved:

*Coronaviris Related Absences Pay Policy -2021;
