DONALD A. KLABUNDE

Donald Alvin Klabunde 89, passed peacefully on October 28, 2020 at the Stevens Point Health Care Facility where he had resided since August 1, 2019.

He was born December 9, 1930 on a farm in the town of Deerfield. Waushara County, Hancock, WI, the youngest of 8 to parents Herman and Ida (Roeske) Klabunde. Donald was baptized and confirmed at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Richford, WI. He attended the Red Brick Country School and Wautoma High School.

He was an active member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, Richford, WI, teaching the confirmation class for many years, Sunday School Superintendent, serving on the Church council, and singing in the choir. His Faith was extremely important to him.

Donald married Carol Arlene (Wallner) June 13, 1959 at United Methodist Church, Plainfield, WI. He was a loving, caring, supportive Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. Donald lived and worked his entire life on his home dairy farm. He was also employed on construction for many years. He loved the outdoors and took much pride in his trees, yard and gardens. He looked forward to Hunting with family, both gun and bow. After retiring from construction, he would go to County Nutrition Sites with Carol and he also helped with the monthly assembly of the Waushara County Dept of Aging Newsletter for many years until his health failed and he could no longer do this.

He is survived by his spouse, Carol, of 61 years, son, Gregory and Jean (Dobeck) Klabunde, Hancock; daughter, Donna Jean and Leo VonScheben, Jr of Alaska; and son, Garth Klabunde, Plainfield. Five grandchildren; Jeremiah and Joetta (Lytle) Karsten, New Mexico, Hannah (Klabunde) Chris Hambrock, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Dalton and Miranda (Antinucci) Klabunde, Portage, WI, and Hayden Klabunde, Hancock. great grandaughters; Charlie Rae, Jemma Jo, and Cora Kate Karsten. great grandsons; Carson, Caleb, and Christian Hambrock. Sister Ruth and Robert Dehling, Wautoma. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Ida Klabunde, mother and father-in-law, Gladys and Anton Wallner, brothers Merten, Martin, Erwin and Edward Klabunde, sisters Margaret Klabunde and Elsie (Klabunde) Clark. Grandson Joshua Karsten. Also many nieces and nephews.
