Al-Anon Corner

When there is a drinking problem in the home, all eyes are taken off of God and put on the problems caused by that...That was so true in my home. Even quit going to church, stopped praying and stopped looking to God for answers. I was angry at my God for not helping me.

It wasn’t until I joined Al-Anon and went to meetings weekly, read my literature, and talked with other members did I start to get a spiritual life. My attitude changed and I realized God did not abandon me, I abandoned Him. He was not doing it my way. I learned I had to do the opposite and ask only for knowledge of His will for me...not the problem drinker’s.

He had a Higher Power too and I was not it. I had to quit playing God and let God take care of them. Things got so much better in my home.

Al-Anon is not allied with any sect, denomination, political entity, organizations or institutions; does not engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any cause.

There are no dues for membership. Al-Anon is self-supporting through its own voluntary contributions. We have only one purpose to help the family and friends of problem drinkers.

Won’t you come join us? We have meetings on Mondays at noon and Wednesday nights at 6:30, both at Hope Lutheran Church, Wautoma. Hope to see you there.
