Tri-County Football team takes a tough loss Sept. 7

The Tri-County Penguins lost a tough one on Sept. 7 to the Pittsville Panthers football team 56-8.

Although the score may have not indicated it, the Penguins made improvements in their run defense and played stout against the run in the first half, but breakdowns in coverage led to three quick scores. The Penguins were led offensively by Ryan Applebee’s 83 yards on 21 carries.

Tri-County’s lone score came on a one yard run by senior Steven Folz. Tri-County dropped to 1-3 on the season and looks to regroup before traveling to take on conference foe Marion-Tigerton Sept. 14.
