City of Wautoma awarded grants

On July 21, the City of Wautoma received a written notice from the Wisconsin Department of Administration that they have been awarded up to $500,000 for 2019 reconstruction of Green Meadow, Valley View, and Sandcrest roads, including potential utilities ran through part of Lake Ridge Subdivision.

The funds are provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. At their Aug. 13 Council meeting, City Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer Tommy Bohler told council members that the city is required to match the funds, stating that the city is in good standing and has a lot of borrowing capacity.

To coincide with the CDBG grant, the council approved a two-year professional services agreement with MSA Professional Engineers, for a cost of $30,000, which will include assistance with all aspects of the grant and project.
