Patterson Library to host Farm Fridays

The Patterson Memorial Library Board met May 21 to learn about Farm Fridays. Fridays during the summers will become Farm Fridays at the Wild Rose Public Library, with various animals, crops, and other farming items being brought in. Library Director, Kent Barnard, wanted to give kids a better idea as to what one might find or do on a farm, where our food comes from, what animals are like, and how not to be afraid of them. Some people and farms items have already been arranged for, with more to come. In other business, cir-culation was reported as being up in April. The after-school program transferred over to the library from the school on May 21. The kids were treated to cake and ice cream. The Wild Rose Elementary first grade students will tour the library on June 1. The Summer Reading Program sign-up starts June 4. The first performer will be David Strokes with music on June 14. Tim Glander will appear June 21 with music and magic. Magician Mr. Steve will appear June 28. The Soda Pups will appear Aug. 6. The entertainers will appear at 3 pm on these days. Throughout the program, watch for the line-up for July’s entertainers. The End of the Summer Reading Program Picnic will be Aug. 8 at Roberts Park. Tech Tuesdays will start on June 12. The Library will now be in charge of scheduling the community center use instead of the village clerk. The next regular library board meeting will take place at 7 pm on Monday, June 15.
