Local business to provide ongoing support for local nonprofit

L & L Propane, Waupaca, will be providing ongoing financial support to Welcomed, Wild Rose.  Welcomed, a nonprofit organization founded and directed by Scott Kingston and Bruce Williams, exists to surround vulnerable children in the foster system, and the families who support them, with caring communities. The picture includes Bruce Williams, Welcomed, Luke Lauritzen, owner and operator of L&L Propane, and Scott Kingston Welcomed. Welcomed helps equip and mobilize local churches throughout the state of Wisconsin to begin ministries to care for these children by raising up and training groups of volunteers. These volunteers become part of a wrap-around community supporting the needs of each individual foster family. Statistics show that on average 50 percent of foster families stop fostering within the first year of getting their license, because it is too hard to do on their own. 90 percent of foster families with a care community of volunteers around them are still fostering over 2 years after starting. There are currently over 8,000 children in the Wisconsin foster system. If you are interested in learning more about Welcomed or would like to support this mission, contact Scott at 902-585-7160 or Bruce 715-281-6697.
