Head Start enrollment now underway in Waushara County

Subhead

CAP Services Head Start and Early Head Start programs in Wautoma are now accepting applications for the 2021-2022 program year.

Head Start and Early Head Start are quality prenatal, early childhood and family development programs for eligible families. The programs provide education, health, nutrition and social/emotional services for each child and offer support and family development services to all family members.

Families must meet eligibility guidelines and are asked to bring income verification to their application appointment. Families whose children have documented disabilities are also encouraged to apply. Parents are encouraged to call for an appointment as soon as possible as enrollment is limited.

CAP’s Head Start program provides services at the Wautoma Early Learning Center, 205 E. Main St., Wautoma.

Head Start offers both center-based and home-based options for children ages three to four. For center base, classes are in session 7.25 hours per day, four days per week.

Early Head Start offers a home-based option for pregnant mothers and children ages 0 to 3. Four year old classroom options are in session for either five or 7.25 hours a day, four days per week. There is a center-based option for children who are two that operates year around for 7.5 hours per day, four days per week.

Applications are currently being accepted for children from the Wautoma, Redgranite, Wild Rose, Plainfield, Coloma, Hancock and Almond-Bancroft areas. Parents should call 920-787-7742, Monday through Friday, to schedule an appointment. For Spanish, call 715-498-6279.
