Family Health La Clinica offers free help with health insurance open enrollment

Subhead

Health Insurance Market-place Open Enrollment opens on Nov. 1 and closes on Dec. 15. Those who are uninsured or underinsured can compare different health insurance plans and apply for coverage that begins on Jan.1, 2021. What you pay for insurance depends on your income, so many people qualify for lowered monthly premiums.

This process can be hard to navigate. Family Health La Clinica (FHLC) has trained staff who can help for free by calling 1-800-942-5330. This free service is available for all who live in FHLC’s ten-county service area, so you do not need to be an FHLC patient to get help free of charge. These services are available over the phone and in-person at any Family Health La Clinica location.

FHLC staff can help you apply through the Health Insurance Marketplace during this Open Enrollment Period and during Special Enrollment Periods (SEP) if you have had a qualifying life event. Some examples are if you lost your health insurance through a recent job loss, if you recently moved, got married, had a baby, or adopted a child. The best way to make sure you are covered is to apply now during the Open Enrollment Period from Nov. 1 to Dec. 15.

Other options for health insurance coverage are Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). These programs accept applications at any time of year and are only based on income. If you are not sure what you qualify for, call Family Health La Clinica to find out for free. FHLC staff are trained to help you apply for any of these programs and more, depending on your unique situation. You may qualify for free coverage, so call FHLC and get covered today.

Family Health La Clinica is a community health center that provides primary medical, dental, behavioral health, substance recovery, and benefit navigation services to people of all ages and income levels, both insured and uninsured. Benefit navigation services are always free for both patients and non-patients.
