Conservation poster contest to be held

Subhead

Waushara County Land Conservation Department, as part of the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) and WI Land + Water, is sponsoring a Conservation and Environ-mental Awareness Poster Contest. As students learn about the importance of conserving and preserving our natural resources they also get the opportunity to express their ideas through any media - paint, crayon, colored pencil, charcoal, stickers, paper or other materials on regular posters. No computer-generated pos-ters are allowed.

The 2021 Stewardship title “Healthy Forests, Healthy Communities” must be on your poster. This is the only title eligible for the national poster contest. Do not use any other title.

The poster size must be 14” x 22” or 12” x 18”. Posters submitted from five age categories (K-12) will be judged on theme originality, visual effectiveness, universal appeal, and conservation message.  Prizes will be awarded and all first place posters in the local contest will progress to the Lake Winnebago Area Contest to be held in Jan. 22, 2021. Progressing from there, a State and National Poster Contest are also held.

Posters need to be received in the Land Conservation & Zoning Office, Waushara County Courthouse by Dec. 18, by 4:30 p.m.

Free 12” X 18” poster boards are available for the students who are participating in the poster contest.  Entries can be delivered or mailed to our office at:
