CARES - Distance Learning Program for rural school districts

Subhead

Bug Tussel Wireless, LLC (BTW), a subsidiary of Hilbert Communications, LLC, is pleased to announce a Distance Learning Program for the 2020/2021 school year. This program offers a special 30 percent discount to students, schools, and educators in Bug Tussel service areas in an effort to offset the impact of the COVID-19 school closures and to provide broader access to alternative learning methods.

“We are committed to helping our rural com-munities, schools, and families stay connected in these uncertain times,” said Steve Schneider, Founder and President of Bug Tussel Wireless.

BTW operates approx-imately 170 broadband sites throughout rural Wisconsin. Schneider indicates BTW has plans for an additional 40 sites by the end of 2020 and up to 120 more sites in 2021.

BTW is upgrading legacy sites in Fond du Lac, Waushara, and Adams Counties to a new 4X4 MIMO system that will allow 25 Mbps service in those areas. BTW recently completed this system upgrade on most sites in Calumet County.

BTW has been the recipient of several Wisconsin Public Service Commission Broadband Expansion Grants that will cover Menominee, Kewaunee, Green, and LaFayette Counties as well as unserved pockets in Waushara, Green Lake, and Juneau Counties. Residents in areas covered by these grants would qualify for additional discounts.

BTW has recently hired eight Business Development Managers throughout service areas who will be hiring part-time independent sales representatives to further assist schools and local communities with broadband services. Distance Learning Plans will be available in speeds from 4.8 Mbps to 25 Mbps.
