Additional storm damage photos from June 15 includes tornado damage in West Bloomfield

Subhead

These photos were submitted to the Argus by the Emergency Management Director, Allen Luchini.  The total damage estimate for Waushara County has not been reported as Luchini has been working diligently to access the damage. It has been an extensive task as the storm tore through the area on June 15th leaving a path of destruction covering nearly all of the county.

The storm should help us all to remember to heed the warnings, take shelter, and be prepared with flash lights, generators, water, charged cellphones, utility company phone numbers, etc. Some were without power for hours, others for days.  As the cleanup continues, homes are being repaired, and brush is lining roadways waiting to be cleared, it is fortunate that no one was injured.  We are thankful for the warnings and thankful to Waushara County for the great job they did and are continuing to do in the aftermath of the storm.  Also neighbor helping neighbor is a scene throughout the county.

Melissa Pingel, Waushara County Administrator, is compiling an easy access list of emergency numbers for residents.  The information once completed and compiled will be included in a brochure in tax statements and will be available online on their website.  The county in an area served by several utilities including Alliant Energy, Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative, and WE Energies.  Also it is important to know that for non-emergencies the Waushara County Sheriff’s Dept. can be contacted by dialing 211, so as not to tie up the 911 line for emergencies.
