The Waushara-Wautoma Senior Citizens are planning their first trip of 2021. They have decided on the fabulous Biltmore Estate and Asheville, N.C. the week of June 27 – July 2 (Sun.-Fri.), for six days and five nights, with three consecutive nights in the Asheville area.

Highlights of this Diamond Tour include a full day at the incredible Mansion and Gardens of the Historic Biltmore Estate and a guided tour of Asheville.  There will also be a guided drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway and a stop at the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center.  Next is a visit to the famous Folk Art Center.  The Biltmore was constructed by George Vanderbilt, and took over six years to complete. The French Renaissance Chateau is an impressive four floors with 250 rooms, including 35 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms, and 65 fireplaces.  The gardens are stunning, and just a short stroll from the Mansion.

Day one and two are travel days, ending with dinner on evening two before settling in to the Asheville-area hotel.

Day three there will be a visit to the Biltmore House and Gardens. This includes a stop at Antler Village and Winery, which features shopping, dining and historical exhibits.  Dinner with entertainment finishes their full day before returning to the hotel.

Day four includes a guided tour of the city of Asheville, which features more Art Deco architecture in the south outside of Miami Beach.  View the magnificent S. Lawrence Basilica.  The afternoon brings a guided drive along the Scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, a stop in the Visitor Center which includes the fabulous film “The Blue Ridge Parkway - America’s Favorite Journey” with breathtaking aerial photography.  Afterwards, they will stop at the famous Folk Art Center.  During the evening, enjoy dinner before returning to the hotel.

Day five will be a stop at the President Taft National Historic Site in Cincinnati, OH on the first homeward-bound day.

Day six is the last travel day before reaching Wautoma.

Continental Breakfast is served every morning during the stay, including five mornings. Three dinners are also included. The climate-controlled Motorcoach makes rest stops as they travel, and there is also a restroom on board.
