Black Hawk Folk Society hosts virtual “early winter solstice” sing along

Subhead

Black Hawk Folk Society invites you to join many of our long-time BHFS performers/members for a virtual “early winter solstice” sing and/or play along on Saturday, Dec.12 at 7 p.m. (Black Hawk’s pre-pandemic Second Saturday Concert day and time).  Of course, virtual isn’t as wonderful as in person, but this will be a safe celebration of music and fellowship.  The upside to virtual:  If you’re singing off-key or your instrument needs tuning no one will ever know.

The current performer line-up includes these talented musicians:  Tom Barrett, Pat Connolly, Anne Dorwaldt, Dave Gunderson, Emma and Amy Kowalski, Guy Kaplan, and Dennis Mocadlo.  In addition, former Wisconsin Poet Laureate Bruce Dethlefsen will read some of his original work.  If you attended the grand musical opening this past September of the new band shell in Mount Morris Town Park, these are names you will recognize.

Register for this free event now at blackhawkfolk.org.  Just click on the “Dec. 12 Winter Sing-A-Long” link on Black Hawk’s homepage and you will receive an email that includes the link to join the sing-along.

To best enjoy the streamed concert, you will need a computer, smartphone, or tablet with Internet connection.  (You may also join via a phone call, but you will only be able to hear the performers and you may incur long-distance charges.)

Due to copyright restrictions, the concert will only be available to enjoy during the live stream on Saturday night.

Black Hawk Folk Society is completely volunteer-driven and a 501(c)(3) non-profit.  Black Hawk wishes everyone happy and healthy holidays. The Society appreciates all the generous donors and sponsors who help Black Hawk keep the music going, making this event and others possible, including outreach programs.
