Making the holidays a bit brighter for individuals and families facing financial and other hardships is the goal of the 2023 Waushara Holiday Project. This project reflects the heart of Waushara County in which neighbors work together to help neighbors.
The Waushara Holiday Project will provide holiday food and toys for Waushara County residents who apply for assistance. Applications can be completed online at https://tinyurl.com/2023WausharaHolidayProject or by picking up a paper application at the Waushara County Food Pantry 220A Oakridge Ct, the Waushara County Department of Human Services Offices located in the Waushara County Courthouse and at 230 West Park Street or Family Health La Clinica at 400 S. Townline Road in Wautoma. All applications must be completed and returned no later than Friday, Nov. 17. Late applications cannot be accepted.
Holiday food and unwrapped gifts will be distributed to families on Friday, Dec. 15 at Grace United Methodist Church, N2133 Southgate Terrace Wautoma. No contact drive-through distribution will require registration confirmation as well as proof of residency (utility bill, license, etc.).
Organizers welcome the donation of unwrapped toys and financial gifts to support the project. Monetary contributions can be mailed to the WCFP-Waushara Holiday Project at P.O. Box 1108 Wautoma, WI 54982. Donors are asked to indicate food or toy preference in the memo of the check.
Those interested in organizing toy drives or donating unwrapped toys can contact Amber at 715-869-3250 or wausharaholidayproject@gmail.com . Toys and monetary gifts are appreciated by Thursday, Nov. 30.
The Waushara Holiday Project is being coordinated by community volunteers in partnership with the Waushara County Food Pantry. It is supported entirely through donations received from individuals, community groups and businesses throughout Waushara County.
