Last week, Waushara County Administrator Melissa Pingel informed the County Board and employees of her decision to step down from her role to accept the City Administrator position in Port Washington, WI.
In her two plus years with the County, Pingel led several large-scale projects from the capital building projects, to the implementation of new technology with Tyler Technologies, and advocating for a County Committee to focus on Strategic Planning.
IT Director Barry West shared, “Melissa has been a tremendous asset to Waushara County from an IT perspective. She has always been forward thinking and understanding of how technology is in every aspect of the environment. It has been a pleasure to work with her and she will be truly missed.”
“Serving with Melissa has been a pleasure here at Waushara County. She has been a strong steward of county resources; a catalyst for positive change, a beacon of community engagement, and a driving force behind the vibrant spirit that propels Waushara County towards progress and prosperity.”
Pingel shared “I have learned so much in my time with Waushara County and know there are many Waushara “Wins” in the future. The collaboration of the County Board and Department Heads has been nothing short of exceptional! Waushara County is indeed a welcoming place with forward-thinking leaders, and it has been a pleasure working with everyone.”
Pingel will work on a smooth transition and help continue the forward-momentum of the County with strategic planning and preparing for the move into the Government Center in May 2024.
At the next Executive Committee meeting, Monday, Feb. 12th, 2024, there will be a discussion of the next steps of the recruitment process to hire Pingel’s replacement.
