On Nov. 10 Wautoma Police received a report that a truck crashed into a residence in the 400 block of South Fair Street in Wautoma. Officers arrived and discovered a pick-up truck had been driven into the living room of the residence.
A female resident was found unconscious underneath the truck. The victim was initially treated by Waushara County EMS before being air lifted by a Theda Star Medical Helicopter to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. Wisconsin Highway Patrol Accident Reconstruction Unit is on scene investigating the crash.
In the latest update, it was reported that the victim is in stable condition and is being treated in the Intensive Care unit at ThedaCare-Neenah.
Video surveillance was obtained by the Wautoma Police Department. The driver of the truck was backing up into the driveway and advised he accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the break. This caused the vehicle to accelerate rapidly, striking the home and victim.
