UTV accident claims life of Berlin boy

On June 10, at about 12:50 p.m. the Berlin Police Department was called to the 600 Block of Van Horn Street on a report of a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) accident where a child was injured.

Upon arrival of the Berlin Police Department, officers located a 12-year old boy deceased. This accident occurred on private property.

The victim has been identified as Boone P. Kujawa, 12. Boone was a student at All Saints Catholic School in Berlin where he had just completed the 6th grade.

Boone was a wonderful young man, who loved life and everyone he met. Boone was a great son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to so many. Boone loved sports of all types, and was always active playing them with his cousins and friends.

“The loss of a young child is the worst thing a family can experience.  This tragedy has affected the family immensely and the community as a whole.  Berlin is a small community that comes together to support and grieve with the Kujawa family.  Our thoughts and prayers are with them,” said Captain Kevin Block.

A visitation will be held June 16 at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home, Berlin, and again on June 17 prior to a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at the All Saints Catholic Church of Berlin and burial in the Saint Michael’s Cemetery of Berlin.
