Rep. Scott Krug and Sen. Patrick Testin tour Waushara Food Pantry

In an effort to get a better look at the needs of Waushara County Residents and how the Waushara Food Pantry can better serve the area Representative Scott Krug and Senator Patrick Testin met with Marty Lee, the Waushara County Food Pantry Director.  Lee informed them of the concerns and use of the Waushara Food Pantry explaining that they work with 65 volunteers and it takes 200 hours weekly to serve as many as 800 participants in any given month.  Lee said she has seen the largest increase in senior citizens where they live on a fixed income and face unknown necessities and they is no money left for food or hygiene items.  On any service day when the pantry is open on Tuesdays and Fridays they see anywhere from  70-160 come through the doors.  The shelves are well stocked and Lee continues to work in partnership with local stores and agencies to assure Waushara County residents have canned goods, breads, meat, vegetables, cereal, milk and so much more.  If you would like to donate to the food pantry, please call 920-787-0461.
