Joseph Blader charged after undercover child sex sting
Joseph C. Blader, 36, Wautoma, appeared in front of Racine County Circuit Court Judge John S. Jude Feb. 6 for an initial appearance for use of computer to facilitate a child sex crime and 2nd degree sexual assault of child.
According to the criminal complaint, the Racine County Sheriff’s Department conducted an undercover operation searching for adults online looking for underage children to engage in sexual relations.
During the investigation, a Racine Sheriff deputy found an advertisement on Appleton’s Craigslist site under “Casual Encounters” titled, “Looking for younger hitchhiker.” The deputy responded to the ad posing as a 15-year-old boy.
While using a false identity, the deputy continued to have conversations with Blader, referencing his age and inexperience on a number of occasions.
