The Department of Aging and Disability Services Intergenerational Pen Pal program fosters connections between senior adults and elementary school students. It also helps students with reading, writing and communication skills as they engage in handwritten communication.
“The intergenerational Pen Pal program is a unique way for senior adults and students to connect and learn from each other about a range of interesting topics through letter writing. We are thankful for this year’s pen pal participants; Candace Underwood, Betty Torpy, Judy Angus, Diane Betts, and Diane Singeltary who are making a positive difference in the lives of Redgranite students this year”, says Ruth Weinberger, Programs Specialist.
