Christopher and Cathryn Gunst, the 10-year-old twins  of Willis and Carla Gunst, Pine River, earned numerous awards at the Wisconsin Junior Holstein Convention, Jan. 5-7 in Stevens Point.

Gunsts earn awards at Wisconsin Junior Holstein Convention Jan. 5-7

Cathryn and Christopher Gunst, the 10-year-old twins of Willis and Carla Gunst, Pine River, earned numerous awards at the Wisconsin Junior Holstein Convention, Jan. 5-7 in Stevens Point.

During the annual banquet, they were both awarded with a younger member award for their work throughout the year. In addition, Christopher won the junior speaking contest, earning him the right to compete at the National Holstein Convention at Michigan in July. He also placed first in the junior animal photo contest.

Cathryn placed second in the essay contest and was also second with her tri-fold display, which will now be entered for national competition.

Cathryn and Christopher help on their family farm, Wilstar Holsteins, consisting of 60 milk cows and over 80 head of registered Holsteins. On the farm, they help with milking, feeding calves, cleaning calf pens, setting up the milk house and other farm-related chores.

Both are involved in 4-H, where they have served as reporter and participate in a variety of community service events.
