Energy expert electrifies learning during visit to Parkside Middle School
Parkside Middle School 5th graders were able to experience first-hand how electricity and magnetism works when Bill Harris, president and CEO of the Neshkoro-based Renewable World Energies, stopped by their classrooms March 26-28. Harris has been visiting to the 5th grade classrooms at Parkside for several years in order to teach students first-hand about electricity. Pictured is Parkside 5th grader James Rance watched as an index card with pencil markings on it lights on fire on March 28. Prior to performing the Jacob Ladder experiment, the students learned the lead in the pencil allowed for the electricity to pass through the card and light it on fire.
