Dreams Can Happen to host Special Needs Prom on May 12
The new nonprofit com-munity organization, Dreams Can Happen, has taken over the responsibility of planning the annual Special Needs Prom. The same committee will be in charge of the event that has helped plan the prom for the past four years, but will no longer be affiliated with Waushara Industries in Wautoma.
This year’s 5th annual Special Needs Prom will be held on Saturday, May 12, at Camp LuWiSoMo, W5421 Aspen Road, Wild Rose. Camp LuWiSoMo is also co-hosting the event with the theme, “Rockin’ the 50s”. The event will feature a dinner catered by Moose Inn as well as a photo booth, announcement of the Prom Court, dancing and refreshments.
Attendees can dress for-mally, with help from the Prom Closet, dress for the theme of “Rockin in the 50’s” to enter a best dressed contest, or just come in daily clothes. This event as always is open to all Special Needs people of all ages, their families, friends and caregivers.
The doors will open at 5 p.m., with dinner being held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The dance will be held from 7 to 10 p.m.
Those interested in purchasing tickets for dinner must purchase them in advance from: Dreams Can Happen, PO Box 124, Wautoma, WI 54982. Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope or information in your order that you will pick the tickets up at the prom.
The annual Special Needs Prom is put on with donations, those wishing to contribute can also mail their donation to the same address.
