Conservation Poster Contest to be held

Waushara County Land Conservation Department, as part of the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) and WI Land and Water, is sponsoring a Conservation and Environmental Awareness Poster Contest. As students learn about the importance of conserving and preserving our natural resources, they also get the opportunity to express their ideas through any media - paint, crayon, colored pencil, charcoal, stickers, paper or other materials on 12” x 18” or 14” x 22” posters. Hand drawn only. No computer-generated posters will be accepted.
The following qualifications must be followed when entering:
The 2024 National Contest Theme “May The Forest Be With You, Always” Must be on your poster.
To be eligible for judging, each poster must have a completed and signed entry form attached on the back of the poster.
Poster size must be or 12” x 18” or 14” x 22”.
Posters submitted from five age categories (K-12) will be judged on theme conservation message, visual effectiveness, originality and universal appeal.
Prizes will be awarded. All first-place posters in our local contest will progress to the Lake Winnebago Area Contest to be held on Jan. 19, 2024. Progressing from there, a State and National Poster Contest are also held. Posters need to be received in the Land Conservation & Zoning Office, Waushara County Courthouse by Dec. 15 by 4:30 p.m.
Free 12” X 18” poster boards are available for the students who are participating in the poster contest. Please send in your participation numbers and they will deliver the posters to you. Posters should be packaged so they remain flat when sent to the office.
