City of Wautoma continues clean-up of unsightly properties

Wautoma Police Chief Paul Mott reported on the department city cleanup. Notices were issued to properties in violation and they are given seven days to comply. If there is no compliance a citation is issued and the violator has 20 days to get it cleaned up. Following the meeting report in the Waushara Argus from last month the city received 30 complaints of unsightly properties. This information was included in Chief Mott’s report to the council during their monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 16th at Wautoma City Hall.
Chief Mott also said that he installed cameras throughout the City property including City Hall, the parking lot, garage and outbuildings.
The council elected Pat King as their President, Bob Cayer to the Board of Review, Pat King to the Planning Commission, Sarah Nixon as Health Nurse, Eric Vezina, Code Officer, John Nixon, Fire District Representative, Helena Waala, Tourism District Representative, and the Waushara Argus as the local paper.
Administrator Tommy Bohler reported that he completed the audit and that he met with Richard Rasmussen, CAP Services, on the renovation of the Waushara County Food Pantry.
Bohler said CAP is going through the permitting process and remodeling of the Food Pantry will be underway when the permits are presented and approved.
The council also approved the noise ordinance extension from 10 to 11 p.m. for Taco Fest to be held at Waushara County Fairgrounds July 26 and 27.
An electrical box addition to S. Ste. Marie Street for $7,000 was approved by the council to be used for the Open Air Market food trucks and more throughout the year.
Mayor John Nixon reminded the council of the Wautoma Library Fundraiser to be held on Saturday, May 4th. The next regular meeting of the Wautoma Common Council will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 13th at Wautoma City Hall.
