Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative (ACEC) is proud to take an active role in providing a safety education program for all age groups. Electrical safety can be taught in the classroom, outdoors with the hotline demonstration, or both. Their truck and trailer travel to you and best of all, this safety program for free.
The safety presentation draws attention to:
• The purpose of linemen’s safety gear.
• How electric utility equipment works.
• The harmful or potentially fatal effect of coming into contact with energized power lines.
• What happens when something touches a power line, like a tree, fishing line, and a hotdog.
Fire departments, first responders, schools, and other organizations have benefitted from this safety program and ACEC strives to continue educating the public on how to stay safe around electricity. Individual schools and other organizations may have unique needs or want to learn specific information, so the presentations are easily customized for your group and age range.
To schedule a free safety presentation please call (800) 831-8629 or email acec@acecwi.com.
