Van Epps named First Team All-Iowa Conference

The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recently announced that Mitch Van Epps, a 2014 graduate of Wild Rose High School, has been named a first-team all-conference selection at defensive line. This is the first time he has been honored with this achievement during his Luther College football career.

Van Epps was a part of a Luther defensive unit that finished second in the Iowa Conference in total defense, allowing 342.6 yards per game. The Norse also finished third in defensive scoring, allowing 27.5 points per contest.

Van Epps had his best season in a Norse uniform, leading the defensive lineman with a single season career high 44 tackles that included 11 for loss. He was also credited with four sacks and three pass break-ups. He completed his career with 97 tackles that included 13.5 for loss.

Van Epps is the son of James and Joni Rankin of Wild Rose.
