Westfield Cross Country competes at SCC Championships

Flyte and Good awarded 2nd Team All-Conference

The Westfield boys and girls cross country teams traveled to Lake Lucerne Camp and Retreat Center in Neshkoro on Oct. 14 to compete in the South Central Conference Championships.

Overall the girls team took 4th place out of six teams, with the Wisconsin Dells winning the overall team championship with 19 points, followed by: Mauston, 40; Wautoma, 83; Westfield, 101; Adams-Friendship, 128; Nekoosa, 186.

Juniors Mikayla Flyte and Melissa Good led the Pioneers by securing individual 2nd Team All-Conference honors, with Flyte finishing in 8th place with a time of 21:14.95 and Good placing 14th with a time of 22:17.79.

Following Flyte and Good in the individual races for the Pioneers were: McKenna Dillman, 24th; Taylor Ellis, 25th; Claudia Johnston, 30th; Elizabeth Smith, 31st; and Kayla Anagnostopoulos, 33rd.

The boys took 5th place with Wautoma winning the championships with 53 points. Mauston and Nekoosa tied with 54 points, with Wisconsin Dells, 72; Westfield, 147; Adams-Friendship, 163, rounding out the race results.
